URBAN youth services

URBAN youth services is a new program aimed at supporting young people across metropolitan Adelaide, aged between 10 and 25 years of age, who need support or assistance.

URBAN youth services aims to ensure that young Aboriginal people:

  • Can manage problems with confidence

  • Have strong and healthy connections to their community

  • Have strong and positive support groups

  • Are able to access help when it's needed

  • Feel safe and secure

  • Have the skills needed to live well and reach their full potential.

So, how can URBAN youth services help YOU?

We can:

  • Help you develop the life skills needed in your daily life to live well

  • Help you develop and build confidence, self-esteem and the ability to cope with stressful times

  • Help you make strong relationships with friends, families and the community

  • Support you at school, or to find education or work that you want to do

  • Support you in identifying and managing worries and troubles in healthy ways

  • Provide information and resources so you can make informed choices

  • Listen to you and work on issues or problems that you want to deal with

  • Link you in with the services to help meet your needs, such as housing, money, legal problems and many others.

We will:

  • Work with you one-on-one, in groups, at school or whatever suits you best

  • Meet with you in places you feel most comfortable, or where you need support

  • Help you to build the confidence to stand up for the things important in your life

  • Refer you to programs to help you in your life, including  Circle of Security, Through Young Black Eyes and    Seasons for Healing. Check out the Community Safety and Wellbeing page for more info on these programs.
